Join the Trans- Feminist and Queer Digital Praxis Workshop (TFQ DPW) for lunch with Research Fellow, Cassius Adair. Participants are asked to read three short texts in order to generate a grounded conversation together about how we might engage with trans material, whether born-digital or digitally-archived / circulated. This will be a work-play session where we will reckon with a primary source (the AEGIS newsletter) together, thinking through ethical engagement and scholarly practice from a trans feminist lens. Join Dr. Adair in the research sandbox!

Cassius Adair is visiting fellow at the Digital Research Ethics Collaboratory. Currently, he is an associate producer on the nationally-distributed public radio show With Good Reason, based in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Previously, Dr. Adair has taught literature and media at the University of Michigan, helped produce a daily news and culture show at Michigan Radio, and worked as a Mellon Humanities Fellow at the Digital Library Federation. In 2018, he was selected as a New Voices Scholar by the Association of Independents in Radio.

His writing appears in American Quarterly, American Literature, Avidly, Make Literary Magazine, Nursing Clio, Misadventures Magazine, and Semiotic Review. He is now writing a book about transgender people and the Internet.

In preparation for the event, please read the following two short pieces by Dr. Adair as well as an archival document, which we will send you by email. Please make sure you register with the correct email address so we can send you this additional reading.
